Community guidelines

Some places in Unbound are added by people: a photo, a name, and a few sentences. These rules cover places, photos, comments, and profiles. The short version is in the app. This is the full one.
What makes a place
A place is a real spot worth telling about. Humour is welcome. The entry still has to tell people about a place that exists.
We do not add a place twice. If it is already there, we show you the existing one.
What we do not publish
- Advertising, including your own business, links, phone numbers, and discount codes.
- Violence, weapons, dangerous places, and instructions, such as railway tracks, roofs, forbidden lost places, or climbing without protection.
- Hate, discrimination, insults, and harassment, including the veiled kind.
- Invention presented as fact, and conspiracy stories.
- Joke entries for places that do not exist.
- Current politics, parties, campaigning, and activism. Religion only in a factual way. Crime, drugs, accidents, and scandals from roughly the last 30 years.
- Sexual content, nudity, and shocking material.
- Private addresses, private houses and land, identifiable people, especially children, licence plates, and the names of private individuals.
- Places whose fame would harm nature or animals: nesting sites, rare plants, caves with bats.
- Disrespect at memorials.
- Photos that are not yours: screenshots, pictures from the web, watermarks.
- Spam, duplicate entries, extra accounts, and arranged voting.
Photos
You took the photo yourself. It shows no identifiable people and no licence plates. Location data is removed from the photo.
Comments
Comments appear at once. A relaxed tone is welcome, and between friends so are teasing and swear words, as long as they are not meant to seriously hurt. Criticism of a place is fine.
Not allowed are serious threats and calls to violence, hatred against people because of their origin, religion, gender, sexuality or disability, banned symbols, pornographic content, other people's private data such as addresses or phone numbers, and advertising and spam. A person looks at such comments and removes them, and we then tell you why.
Report, block, appeal
Places, comments, and profiles can be reported. You can block a person. After that you no longer see their places, comments, or profile.
If something is rejected, we name the rule and the reason, including when the review was automatic. You can appeal once, for places in the app, otherwise by e-mail to legal@unbound.guide. A person decides the appeal.
Three violations in 30 days pause suggesting places and commenting for 30 days, and the next time for good. Listening and voting stay available.
After it is approved
An approved place is visible to everyone. You cannot delete it yourself. You can ask for it to be removed and give a reason. A person decides.
